Q'Orianka Kilcher, a Native actress who plays Pocahontas in the upcoming movie "The New World," has found a second family on the Navajo Nation.
Kilcher was born in Peru and is from the Huachipaeri and Quechua tribes. But she also considers herself a granddaughter of John and Grace Help, a Navajo couple who lives in Window Rock, Arizona.
The Helps have raised the Kilchers as part of their own, said Q'Orianka's mother Saskia. Q'Orianka said she loves going to the reservation to hang out with her grandfather and watch sheep.
"The New World" starring Colin Farrell, Christian Bale and Irene Bedard is set to open on Christmas Day [IMDB Entry].
