The new leadership of the Yakama Nation of Washington say a probe of the tribe's finances has uncovered more problems.
The new leadership took over when the old council purchased a minor league basketball team without the consent of the people. A financial probe has since turned up $6.8 million in debt and an at least one unauthorized business.
The loans stem from the purchase of Yakama Juice, a company that bottles apple juice and water. Yakama Forest Product also ran up debt.
