The Casper Star-Tribune concludes its series "Heritage and Hope" on the Northern Arapaho Tribe of Wyoming.

The final story details efforts to pass on traditions to the younger generation. The tribe has developed a language-immersion program and other cultural activities to keep the Arapaho way of life alive.

Tribal members see tradition as a way to keep young people away from drugs, alcohol and crime. Methamphetamine use is on the rise on the Wind River Reservation. Juvenile arrests and teen deaths in Fremont County, where the reservation is located, make up a significant percentage of the state's totals. Unemployment also runs high.
