The Canadian government will return $360 million (Canadian) in lost oil royalties to the Samson Cree Nation of Alberta.
Last month, a judge ordered the government to return the money immediately as part of a $1.4 billion mismanagement case. The Samson Cree say their trust assets were squandered for the past 50 years.
The Samson Cree still have to hold a vote to accept the money before it will be placed under an independent trustee.
