Non-Indians to fight Tulalip Tribes over leases

Non-Indians who lease land from the Tulalip Tribes of Washington are vowing to fight a change in the tribal lease policy.

The tribe is ending its terminating leases for 32 families in 2012 and is giving other families a one-time renewal option. Members of the Marysville-Tulalip Community Association, a group of about 300 people, say that's unfair.

The tribe changed its lease policy out of concern for the environment and the need for housing for tribal members.
