Tickets go on sale today for the "Route 66 Inaugural Ball," a January 19 bash at the National Museum of the American Indian being co-hosted by the Navajo Nation and whose sponsors include the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and the National Indian Gaming Association.
The event is being co-hosted by the Navajo Nation, the State Society of Arizona and the New Mexico State Society. It is meant for Arizonans and New Mexicans who live or work in Washington.
The ball is not an "official" inaugural ball like the ones that will take place after President Bush is sworn into office on January 20. The American Indian Inaugural Ball will be held that night at the Marriott Crystal Gateway in Arlington, Virginia.
