Retired Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell (R-Colorado) has joined the law firm Holland & Knight.

Campbell, a member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe of Montana, will serve as senior policy adviser for Indian affairs. He plans to work on sovereignty, water rights, health care and other tribal issues.

The firm also employs Aurene Martin, a former aide to Campbell on the Senate Indian Affairs Committee and former deputy assistant secretary at the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The firm has three Native women partners.
