Oneida Nation combats drinking among teens

The Oneida Nation of Wisconsin is using a three-year $500,000 grant to combat drinking among Native youth.

A recent survey of 222 Native high school and middle school students showed high rates of alcohol use. Half of the respondents said they have tried alcohol, with 44 percent saying they drank in the last 30 days.

To reduce drinking, the tribe will use the grant for educational and youth programs.
