Police officers for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of Montana arrested two suspected bank robbers on Friday.
William James Gopher, 27, and Thomas Lozeau III, 18, allegedly stole more than $17,000 in U.S. and Canadian currency from a bank on the Flathead Reservation. They were caught less than an hour later trying to flee in a vehicle that happened to be the same color as the one seen at the robbery.
Gopher is reportedly a member of the Chippewa Cree Tribe. Lozeau's affiliation wasn't reported.
The two men appeared in county court on robbery charges but may face federal prosecution.
