The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe of Massachusetts paid $10,000 to remove a bat colony from a historic church.
The tribe said the 1,000 brown bats were a nuisance to the 321-year-old Indian Meeting House. The meeting house is the oldest church on Cape Cod.
The tribe plans to renovate the church but chaiirman Glenn Marshall said no one would help the tribe deal with the bats.
