Fire crews in Colorado are working to contain a fast-growing fire on the Ute Mountain Ute Reservation and another one near the Mesa Verde National Park.

The fire on the reservation doubled in size from 150 acres to 300 acres last night, the Associated Press reported. It is burning in the Ute Mountain Ute Tribal Park, home to important anthropological and cultural sites.

Five miles away, a 2,518-acre burned near Mesa Verde, an ancestral Puebloan settlement. The fire was 50 percent contained as of last night.
