An Alaska Native village remains in danger of falling into the sea after recent storms caused extensive erosion damage.
Teachers in Shishmaref, a village of about 600 people, almost lost their housing to the Chukchi Sea. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to spend between $1.2 million to $1.8 million to build a rock embankment to protect the school and teachers' quarters.
But the solution is only temporary. The village is contemplating a relocation that could cost $180 million.
