Two former faculty members of the Oglala Lakota College on the Pine Ridge Reservation are warning that the college could lose its accreditation.
Mark St. Pierre and Lamoine Pulliam worked with the Veterans Upward Bound program. They accused OLC President Thomas Shortbull and the board of trustees of numerous firings and the termination of the veterans project.
Shortbull refuted the criticism. She said the firings were warranted and that the veterans program didn't have enough participation.
The North Central Association of Colleges and Schools' Higher Learning Commission says OLC is in good standing. OLC will be reviewed again in 2012-13.
