Native films screened at Heard Museum Film Festival


More than 50 Native films are being screened at the second-annual Heard Museum Film Festival this weekend.

Selections include "Trudell," a documentary about legendary activist John Trudell that was directed by Cherokee Heather Rae; "5th World," a Navajo "love story" by Navajo filmmaker Larry Blackhorse Lowe; and "Echoes from Juniper Canyon" from Hopi filmmaker Duane Allen Humeyestewa.

The festival kicks off tonight and runs through Sunday.
