Washoe Tribe sponsors Native Visions Film Festival


The Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California and the American Indian Film Institute are sponsoring a Native Visions Film Festival on Friday and Saturday.

The festival features 14 films about Native subjects. Screening of "Don't Call Me Tonto," starring David Hasselhoff and Gordon Tootoosis, and "Edge of America," starring Wes Studi and Irene Bedard, are on the schedule.

All events are free and open to the public. The festival is being held at the tribe's Meeks Bay Resort.
