A judge on Monday dismissed a Republican lawsuit against the election of Washington Gov. Christine Gregoire, a Democrat.
Gregoire won the November 2004 election by just 129 votes. Republican Dino Rossi, who is of Tlingit and Italian ancestry, challenged the results, saying the election was rife with fraud.
Chelan County Superior Court Judge John Bridges disagreed and said the GOP failed to prove how any illegally cast ballots would affect the race. In response, Rossi said he would not appeal the ruling.
