Arrested tribal judge put on suspension by council

A tribal judge on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming was suspended by a joint council of the Northern Arapaho Tribe and the Eastern Shoshone Tribe.

Lynda Munnell, an Arapaho tribal member, was arrested on May 27 in what authorities say was the largest drug bust in the history of the reservation. She and 17 others appeared before a federal magistrate on Thursday on charges of selling methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana and prescription drugs.

Munnell also faces charges for allegedly threatening to kill a Bureau of Indian Affairs agent who was investigating the case. She had been exhibiting troubling behavior in and out of court, according to the tribe's chief judge.
