A provincial inquiry into the death of a Native man at the hands of police in Ontario has resumed.
Dudley George, 38, was killed when police opened fire on Native protesters at Ipperwash Provincial Park in September 1995. One officer was convicted of criminal negligence causing death and resigned from the force.
The inquiry was called to investigate the incidents surrounding the death. As part of testimony this week, a tape was played that indicated former Ontario premier Mike Harris wanted the protesters out of the park. Harris has denied political involvement in the police action and is expected to testify this summer.
