The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation donated $1 million to help a local library expand, with Chairman Michael Thomas promising to get the Mohegan Tribe to donate as well.
The tribe's donation brings the Otis Library within reach of its $9.5 million expansion project.
The library needs to raise just $800,000 more.
The Mohegan Tribe has already promised to donate at least $500,000.
