Witness list for Senate hearing on land-into-trust


Here is the witness list for the May 18 Senate Indian Affairs Committee oversight hearing on the taking of land into trust.

George Skibine, acting deputy assistant secretary for policy and economic development

Panel II
David Sprague, Chairman, Match-e-be-nash-she-wish Band of Pottawatomi, Michigan
Tim Martin, Executive Director, United South and Eastern Tribes
Mike Jandernoa, 23 Is Enough of Michigan, a gaming opposition group
Musician David Crosby, of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young fame, who is opposing the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians in California

In addition to the witnesses, Sens. John McCain (R-Arizona), Byron Dorgan (D-North Dakota), Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii), Daniel Akaka (D-Hawaii), Tim Johnson (D-South Dakota) and Kent Conrad (D-North Dakota) plan to give opening statements. Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Oklahoma) is also expected to attend.
