Native students compete in science fair in Arizona

Five Native students from Arizona are taking part in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix this week.

The five students represent the Gila River Indian Community and the Navajo Nation. It's the largest delegation of Native American students from Arizona in the science fair's 56-year history, The Arizona Republic reported.

Travis Lopez, 17, from Gila River, is competing for a national grand prize of $50,000. Annette Mendivil, 16, has already won awards for her experiment on fish.
