Mitchell James Chandler, a member of the Crow Tribe of Montana, pleaded guilty to stabbing Dexter Morning Jr., a Crow tribal member who was a popular high school wrestler.
Chandler, 22, admitted to stabbing Morning, 17, five times on May 24, 2004.
The two had gotten into a fight at a graduation party on the Crow Reservation.
Chandler faces a maximum punishment of life in prison and a $250,000 fine for killing Morning.
