Professor says California ignoring Indian children

California's public schools aren't doing enough to meet the needs of Indian students, according to professor Joely De La Torre of California State University, San Bernardino.

De La Torre said only 52 percent of Indian students finish high school. That is the lowest rate in the state.

De La Torre said tribes need to work with educators to develop programs to help Indian children.
