A Bureau of Indian Affairs police officer is reconsidering his guilty plea for a domestic violence incident as his wife says she is also to blame.

Patrick Swallow, 36, was charged with assault for an October 2004 incident at his home in Rapid City.. He threatened to kill himself and his wife with a handgun.

Swallow later pleaded guilty to simple assault domestic violence, a misdemeanor that carries a one-year jail term, but is seeking a delay in sentencing as he reconsiders. His wife, Genevieve Swallow, says she is equally at blame for the incident and doesn't want him to go to jail.
