Native students at the University of Oklahoma kicked off American Indian Heritage Month with a procession through campus on Friday.
About 20 students representing a number of tribes participated in the walk, the first time it was held. Many dressed in traditional clothing before setting up a teepee.
As part of the month's activities, the American Indian Student Association will host a powwow on Saturday. Grand entry is at 1pm.
