A bill to return a portion of state sales taxes to the Tulalip Tribes of Washington faces a crucial vote today.

House Bill 1721 already passed the House by a vote of 93-3. But if a Senate committee doesn't act on it today, it will be killed this session.

The bill would return 85 percent of the sales tax generated at the Quil Ceda Village to the tribe. The tribe maintains and provides all municipal services to the village, where a Home Depot and other stores are located.
