Yakama Nation agrees to dam conservation plans

The Yakama Nation of Washington has agreed to sign off on conservation plans for three dams on the Columbia River.

The tribe had filed a lawsuit over the federal government's approval of the plans. But the council voted last week to agree to the plans in hopes of securing protections for salmon in the river.

The tribe's decision ends a lawsuit filed against the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
