The superintendent for the schools on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation in Montana is resigning on March 15, The Billings Gazette reports.
Harlan Krein told Northern Cheyenne President Eugene Little Coyote that the tribe's recent actions affecting schools are "unworkable, unethical and very unprofessional." The tribe voted to temporarily nullify the school board and create a separate board.
Krein said the changes have caused confusion. He has worked for the tribe for a total of 4 1/2 years.
