The remote Alaska Native village of Venetie has been without water for more than a week.
The village's 426,000-gallon water tank went dry two months earlier than expected. No one noticed because a monitoring meter malfunctioned.
But when the village went to pump water from the well, there was a problem: the pipes were frozen shut. New parts had to be ordered, and after finally arriving yesterday, the tank is going to be filled up.
