A new exhibit at the Portland Art Museum displays works of tribes along the Columbia River
"People of the River: Native Arts of the Oregon Territory" is a collection of more than 200 items. Among those on display are bone hairpins, antler adzes, bighorn sheep horn bowls and cedar root baskets.
The tribes relied on materials found along the river. But much of that culture has been lost due to the damning of the river and flooding of important sites.
The exibit runs through May 29.
