American Indian college enrollment grew by 35 percent from 1991 to 2001, according to a new study by the American Council on Education.
As of 2001, nearly 150,000 Native students were enrolled in a higher-level institution. This was up from 110,000 in 1991.
Minority student enrollment as a whole grew 52 percent during that 10-year period, the report said.
