The province of Saskatchewan says it will track prescription drug use by Natives in response to the death of a Native man.
Previously, Natives weren't tracked because they receive health care from the Canadian government. But the death of Darcy Ironchild, who received 300 prescriptions in the year before his overdose on drugs, prompted the change.
The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations says it will fight the proposal because First Nations weren't consulted.
