Ward Churchill, a University of Colorado professor who is active on Indian issues, could face disciplinary action for an essay he wrote that compares the victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks to Nazis.
The University of Colorado regents are meeting today to consider the controversy that erupted recently when Churchill was invited to speak at Hamilton College in New York. His essay, published shortly after the attacks, has divided the campus, some of whom don't want him to speak.
Churchill is the chairman of the ethnic studies department at CU-Boulder. He was tenured in 1991.
