The Red Shirt village on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota is raising the roof on an unusual $4.2 million school building.
The school consists of two 124-foot concrete domes connected by a rectangular structure. The building is unusual because the domes were inflated like a balloon.
The first dome was raised last month. Students, teachers and residents erected the second one yesterday with the help of construction crews. The school will be ready in October.
