The Navajo Nation Tsunami Relief Benefit Powwow will take place on Saturday, January 15, in Fort Wingate, New Mexico.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Red Cross to aid the victims of the tsunami disaster. Over 150,000 have died in the South Asian disaster.

�People all around the world are taking up the call to assist in the aftermath of this terrible disaster. I whole-heartedly encourage the voluntary efforts of our Navajo people to raise money for the victims,� Navajo Nation Council Speaker Morgan said in a statement. �I know that many of you are concerned for the people affected by the tsunami disaster. This will be one avenue for you to contribute to help the children, parents, and grandparents of another land.�

Entrance fee will be $2 for adults and $1 for children. The powwow will be held at the Wingate Elementary School
