State and federal archaeologists in Utah will study the remains of nine Indians uncovered near the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.
The remains were found on private land in Kanab. The Bureau of Land Management was called into help excavate the site.
The state says it will consult with area tribes about possible repatriation. The remains are believed to several hundred years old.
