The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community of Minnesota plans to build a sewage treatment plant that will serve the reservation.
The tribe says the plant will use environmentally friendly technology that will create no odors or noise. The facility will be able to process up to 1 million gallons of sewage per day and will reduce strain on the Minnesota River, the tribe says.
Construction will being in February 2005 and is expected to last 18 months.
