For the second time in two years, the director of the Lincoln Indian Center in Lincoln, Nebraska, has resigned.
Mona Bearskin, a member of the Winnebago Tribe, joined the center in April 2003. She replaced Kay Bursheim, who left in late 2002 amid allegations that she misrepresented her academic background.
Bearskin faced criticism that she wasn't making enough process. Some said she favored certain tribes. But other said she was a strong leader who has made positive changes.
