Utah's Native Americans were celebrated and honored on Monday for Indigenous People's Day.
Utah Gov. Olene Walker (R) spoke at the event in Salt Lake City. Speakers called for more accurate portrayals of Native people and for unity among all people.
Awards were presented to Native Americans and tribal businesses. The Utah Division of Indian Affairs organized the event.
