The chairmen of two Apache tribes in Oklahoma are trying to prevent their removal from office.
Alonzo Chalepah of the Apache Tribe is accused of spending $1,193 in tribal funds on a drinking binge. He was supposed to use the money to go to the opening of the National Museum of the American Indian but says the money, his plane ticket and his itinerary were stolen.
Jeff Houser of the Fort Sill Apache Tribe is accused of missing three meetings. He says the tribal council acted illegally by removing him.
