Rep. Stephanie Herseth (D-South Dakota) still leads Republican Larry Diedrich by 48 percent to 44 percent but the gap between the two candidates has narrowed in recent months, according to the latest poll.
Herseth won the special election in June by a small margin. Indian voters overwhelmingly chose her in that election, sending her over the top.
In four polls, Herseth has beaten Diedrich but her unfavorable rating has gone up. Her favorable rating remains at 51 percent.
