An Indian Health Service employee pleaded guilty to embezzling $19,000 from the volunteer fire department of the Walker River Paiute Tribe of Nevada.
Elvin Willie Jr. was the assistant chief/treasurer of the department. He admitted taking the money using an ATM card, The Lahontan Valley News reported.
Schurz will be sentenced in federal court in January.
