The Rosebud Sioux Tribe of South Dakota has received an award for its diabetes program.
The program received the Indian Health Service Health Promotion/Disease Prevention Award for Excellence. The award recognized the program's promotion of health and fitness.
The tribe has hired fitness assistants, created an exercise and weight-training facility and reached out to young people.
