The Morongo Band of Mission Indians of California plans to close the roads leading into the reservation.
Chairman Maurice Lyons said outside traffic has caused problems on the reservation. Illegal dumping and drugs are two examples.
The closure would not affect the tribe's casino resort, which is accessible via a county road.
The Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians also bans outside traffic on its reservation.
