The Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma is building a new branch for the bank it recently acquired.
The tribe bought AllNations Bank in Calumet, formerly The First National Bank of Calumet, last year. The new 3,500-square-foot AllNations Bank branch is being built in Shawnee. Bank officials are awaiting federal approval.
The Absentee Shawnees are the fourth Oklahoma tribe to get into banking. The Citizen Potawatomi Nation, the Eastern Shawnee Tribe and the Chickasaw Nation have their own banks.
