Water project helps Blackfeet Nation communities

A $12.5 million tribal, state and federal project will bring clean water to two communities on the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana.

The project will deliver water to more than 6,000 residents and business owners and will enable the tribe to move forward with development projects. A nursing home and dialysis center are in the works.

Money for the project came from the USDA's Rural Development Agency, the Indian Health Service, the Environmental Protection Agency and tribal and state sources. IHS is installing and upgrading the sewer system.
