Dozens of rock art carvings and paintings are being catalogued in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
The art dates as far back as 5,000 years and represents different styles. The older ones are pecked into the rock while newer ones are painted.
Volunteers are finding previously unknown examples of rock art but they are also finding that some have been vandalized.
