Members of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe of Arizona are realizing the dream of homeownership with the help of the YouthBuild USA program.
The program helps people establish or repair their credit history, improve their job prospects and make mortgage payments. At the same time, they help others by building homes, especially for older tribal members.
The town of Guadalupe, which is 40 percent Yaqui, also has joined the effort. The town's Mutual Self-Help program helped build 60 homes in the mid-1990s.
