Archaeologists in Minnesota have uncovered more than 2,000 artifacts at a Mdewakanton Dakota site on the west short of Lake Mille Lacs.
The items are being removed from the site in advance of some construction work. The site dates from from 500 B.C. to A.D. 500.
The artifacts are to be handed over to the Minnesota Historical Society. The article linked below does not state whether tribes are being consulted.
