Impeachment of Keetoowah Band officials delayed

Attempts to impeach two officials of the United Keetoowah Band of Oklahoma have been delayed.

Not enough tribal council members showed up to a special meeting called to impeach treasurer Julie Moss. She is accused of failing to relinquish her membership in the Cherokee Nation and for failing to keep adequate records.

A second meeting to impeach secretary Ernestine Berry was put on hold as well. She is interfering with tribal business, signing documents without approval and for failing to have a Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood card.
